Hiking:
During the season guided tours are organised as well
as excursions to Prague and hiking tours to the mountains of the
Bavarian Forest (Arber, Osser, Kaitersberg, Hoher Bogen, Großer
and Kleiner Falkenstein, Lusen, Rusel etc).
Bicycle Tours:
You can enjoy a relaxed ride on clearly signposted
cycleways (partly with bus transfers) or try a more challenging
mountain-bike tour (guided tours possible); long-distance tours
through the idyllic Bavarian Forest , e.g. the original European
Cup route of the Arber marathon or around Roding, part of the
International Tour de Baviere, are easily accessed as well. The
cycleway along the river Regen leads you from its mouth in Regensburg
near to its spring in Bayrisch Eisenstein, always following the
river, the original source of life of the Bavarian Forest , of
which numerous marvellous historical monuments still bear witness.
From the Donau-Regen-cycleway you can make attractive trips into
the Lower Bavarian corn belt in the Danube valley, called "Gäuboden".
The cycleway on the former railway embankment from Falkenstein
to Regensburg is also connected to the Donau-cycleway.
